I'm using firefox 3.0.10 (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042316 Firefox/3.0.10) and some of the characters don't render properly for me. A screenshot:
To know for certain if it's a character encoding problem, check what Firefox is detecting the page as. I believe it's under the "View -> Character Encoding" menu. It should be detected as Unicode (UTF-8).

Welcome to the site. Glad to hear that you enjoyed the article.
It might be that you don't have the necessary fonts installed. I think that the instructions at Installing East Asian Language Support Under Windows XP will work.
